The Children's Art Factory & Guelph Festival of Moving Media

I am so excited to be working with Melissa Mazar of The Children's Art Factory.  She has created such a great space for kids to play and explore in.  It lends itself nicely to the messier side of art where children can really explore the texture and feel of the materials used.

The studio recently hosted some children's films as part of the Guelph Festival of Moving Media.  I was there to launch my new programs along with Fibre Person Alisa McRonald.  Monster movies played and afterwards we provided the children with materials to create their own monsters.
The event also hosted the gallery opening of Oliver's Monsters a collaboration by Oliver Pond and Laura Pinarello.  When her son Oliver was small, Handwork artist, Laura Pinarello decided to make stuffed 3-D toys from her son's monster drawings after discovering he was afraid of the dark.

A few of the monsters brought to life by his mother.  Pop by the gallery to check them out.
